Nike By You is a service provided by Nike allowing customers to personalise Nike merchandise to give their clothing it’s own identity. They have been looking at ways to elevate their Nike By You sections within their stores in the UK and how they can further connect with their local consumers. Doodle Development was tasked with identifying artists who were born and bred in both Manchester and Birmingham to produce one-of-a-kind patches for their local stores. This was to not only enhance Nike’s offerings, but as an opportunity to bring Nike to both Manchester and Birmingham in an authentic way.

Roots is a Brummie based illustrator and street artist specialising in characters with a love for the weird and wonderful. Her designs are a blend of whimsy and nostalgia, influenced by 90s pop culture and falling down nature's rabbit hole.
For this Nike collab, Roots influences are all strongly Birmingham based, mixing her familiar derpy characters with nods to all things that she loves about her hometown. From the culture and creativity bursting at the seams in Digbeth, the fondly nicknamed Pigeon Park, to the famous Jewellery Quarter and more.

Florence Burns is a freelance Mancunian artist. They specialise in digital illustration and branch out into moving image and graphic design. Florence believes in an ethos of Art for Everyone; art that lives beyond white cube gallery spaces and is accessible. Their practice frequently explores the power of visuals and its ability to build community. Aesthetic wise, Florence's style presents illusions of enhanced reality through bold eye-catching gradients, editorial-esque compositions and cinematic lighting; Tools which she utilises to exude an ethos of empowerment.
